\u00a0At PROTO Invention Factory, we value, in addition to curiosity, creativity and the courage to invent, the will to change and discover the world around us and to understand the impact of our activities on nature. That is why <\/span>at <\/span>PROTO <\/span>we are<\/span> actively working to reduce <\/span>our<\/span> environmental footprint <\/span>in order to<\/span> <\/span>set<\/span> an example and <\/span>be a <\/span>pioneer for other similar companies.\u00a0 PROTO Invention Factory has held the Green Key eco-label since 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

PROTO<\/span>\u2019s<\/span> Environmental Principles:<\/span>
<\/strong>
<\/span>1. At PROTO Invention Factory, we always prioritize local Estonian resources! Our exhibits are largely produced in Estonia to shorten the journey from idea to execution and to conserve resources. We use natural materials, prioritize reuse whenever possible, and gladly give new life to old materials. We want tourists visiting us to experience the same values\u2014Estonia is a small, lovely, clean, and sustainable country where people care about their environment.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>2. At PROTO Invention Factory, both students and families visiting the exhibition can participate in various workshops dedicated to promoting sustainability. Additionally, environmental awareness is integrated into PROTO\u2019s different programs.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>3. PROTO\u2019s food service follows a simple principle\u2014waste and pollution should be minimized as much as possible! Our caf\u00e9 and event catering always offer diverse and healthy options, including plant-based dishes. Furthermore, at PROTO Discovery Factory there is no place for cleaning products containing chemicals or <\/span>produce that <\/span>contains<\/span> air pollutants, fertilizers, or pesticides<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>4. PROTO aims to use heating, electricity, water, and other resources as efficiently as possible. We constantly monitor our consumption and seek new ways to optimize costs.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>5. We practice waste sorting throughout PROTO to ensure effective waste management and reduce environmental impact. Additionally, we collaborate with local waste management companies to ensure that all waste reaches the appropriate recycling and processing facilities.<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>6. For events hosted at PROTO, we have developed guidelines for sustainable event management, which we use for our programs and share with other organizers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>7. PROTO values responsible and ethical operations, offering a safe and inclusive work environment where employees’ rights are respected, and equal opportunities are <\/span>guaranteed regardless of age, race, gender, or other characteristics. We support the promotion of sustainable tourism by fostering transparency, anti-corruption efforts, and environmentally conscious management. We invest in the professional development of our employees through training and awareness programs while encouraging engagement at all levels. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels valued, safe, and inspired to contribute to the sustainable development of society and the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

GREEN KEY<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Green Key certificate is the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry.<\/span> <\/span>Today, approximately 4,500 companies from 65 countries around the world have joined the label.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>leading organization behind<\/span> Green Key internationally is the Foundation for Environmental Education, and in Estonia the issuing of the label is coordinated by the <\/span>Estonian Business and Innovation Agency<\/span> (EIS). High-level environmental stewardship is ensured by documentation of activities, impartial auditing and on-site inspections.<\/span> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
